Summer Destination : Club Manila East With Relatives

Summer time means swimming time. It’s either you go to the beach or go to some resort as long as you get cooled down. If you’re around the Metro and looking for a resort, check out Club Manila East located at Taytay, Rizal. CME also has two other sites, one from Real Quezon and the other one at Boracay. This is a great place for family outing.

My cousins together with my bros and their families went there before Holy Week and had a terrific time. Their kids loved it.

Boracay travel

Taking A Plunge At Boracay Island

Boracay, one of the most popular destinations in the Philippines, is an island located at the Western part of Visayas. This is the perfect place for a great summer get-away. You’ll not get bored that’s a guarantee. Lots of activities happening all day and night. There’s a wide range of restaurants, bars, pubs, and nightclubs to choose from, open til the wee hours. And during the day, you can either go scuba diving or snorkeling or kiteboarding or windsurfing or cliff diving or you can try them all. It’s like Puerto Galera only bigger and better. Bora has 3 stations while Galera only has one.

It is so famous that when peak season comes, it gets so crowded and it’s so hard to book. It’s sells so fast, especially those that come in with packages like 3 days 2 nights including airfare, so if you want to go there on summer or on peak season, make sure to book earlier.

When we had a tour there, it was not a peak season so it’s not crowded. Station one was more pricey so we booked at station two, just perfect for the group on a budget. And it seemed to be a perfect choice since station two had all the happenings. (Click here for inquiries of different resorts at Boracay).

It was actually the time when storm frequently visit the country so there were only few Manilenyos out there and our stay was rather cut short because we didn’t want to experience anymore delays since we already had one upon going there. The people we met were mostly Koreans, but there were also few Europeans, South Africans and Americans having a good time. The folks there were all nice and friendly. One thing I noticed though was that it’s so commercialized that it seemed you haven’t gone out of Manila. But nevertheless, this one is a terrific place you would want to come back again and again. I for one would certainly love to come back if ever there’s time and money, but this time for a longer period of stay with a perfect sunny weather.

Puerto Galera travel

Puerto Galera

One of the popular beach spots in the Philippines is Puerto Galera. It is located at Oriental Mindoro and is the only bay to be listed by the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World.

This is well-known among tourists for its great snorkeling and diving site. Other activities you can do here are wind surfing, kayaking, jetski, the banana boat ride, motorbikes, golf, sailing, hashing and target shooting. At night, there are bars and restos open for a chillaxing evening.

If you’re in Manila and wish to go to Puerto Galera, it will only take you three and a half hours of travel time. You have to travel first by bus (busliners like Jam and Alps have routes going to Batangas) going to the port at Batangas City and then by boat. Here are some of the recommended resorts – Coco Beach Island Resort, Tanawin Bay Resort, Graywall Resort, Puerto Nirvana Beach Resort, El Galleon Beach Resort, Encenada Beach Resort.

Had gone to Puerto Galera twice, first when we had our company outing and then the second, when me and my friends together with their family went for a summer getaway. The first was ok but the second was almost a disaster. Well there was a fatal accident that happened, not on our boat but on the other one. It sank and according to reports, there were 12 people who got drowned and died, including a three year old kid.

Fear had trembled upon us after hearing that terrifying news from the kids living the area since it was the same boat company we had plus we had a kid with us too. Only on different time schedule, ’cause the one we had was a 9:30 a.m. ride while the one that sank was the 11 a.m. ride. Reminscing it, it was a like a buzzer beater for us, we were able to book just in the nick of time. Had we been slow for a few minutes, we could have missed our schedule and would have taken that ride since there’s a two hour interval for each boat to leave the port and travel to Galera. Thank God!

Bolinao travel

Bolinao, Pangasinan

Known as little Boracay of Pangasinan, Bolinao is a great place to spend your summer vacation with your friends and family. Though it’s a 5-6 hour long drive from Manila, it’s worth a visit. With lots of good resort, white sand, good amenities, friendly accommodations and services, you will like the serenity of the surroundings.

Here’s one of the resorts we’ve visited. Puerto Del Sol
