Taking a look back on 2016, it may be a good year to some but to most it’s not. Even the author of this blog didn’t have a great 2016. That year seemed to have a curse especially in the music/arts/entertainment world wherein one artist died after the other. News of their deaths spread out quickly like wildfire, some of them were even featured here, and just when we thought it has stopped after Prince’s death, we were wrong. Before the year ended, another fatality was, or rather were added to the list, as another popular celebrities followed suit. George Michael died on December 25th . The singer who popularized such hits like “Faith”, “Careless Whisper”, “One More Try”, “Kissing a Fool” and “Last Christmas” ironically had his last Christmas before his heart failed. Two days after, another surprising news was Carrie Fisher, or Princess Leia to many. The iconic Star Wars actress had a massive heart attack according to reports, something that was unnoticeable since she filmed Episode VII of the famous franchise and was also slated for its next films, Episode VIII and Episode IX. Carrie’s mom, Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds passed away a day later after her son confirmed of the sad news. In an interview, he told that she felt sad about losing Carrie and would like to be with her again. She suffered serious stroke and died hours later after she was taken to Cedars Sinai medical center. English singer-songwriter Greg Lake of progressive band King Crimson departed last December prior to Michael’s demise.
May all those who passed away last year rest in peace.
2016 definitely was a bad year but how about you, did you had a great 2016 or had a not so good experience?
