Jack Bruce, bassist of Cream and one of the best musicians, has died of liver disease. The sad news was confirmed by his publicist in a report by BBC.
Bruce’s family has also released a statement on Saturday via his website saying “It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts.”
Cream was a supergroup that also included Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker. The band is one of the most influential bands in rock history, selling millions of albums and the first ever receiver of the platinum disc for Wheels of Fire. Bruce was the principal songwriter of the band and sang most of the songs including the hit single “Sunshine of Your Love”.
As a tribute to the great bassist, here are a couple of videos of Cream’s last reunion concert which was shared by theeshrimpking.
